What is a cesarean delivery?

2599_large.jpg

It is the delivery of a child through the incision of the abdomen and uterus

It is one of the most common operations. The cesarean section increased dramatically in recent years, due to women's preference for this operation in some cases, and other times for reasons of fetal health, as the proportion of sonar examinations increased, which indirectly led to a rise in the cesarean section.

Also, due to the development of antibiotics and anesthesia, this process is safer than before. It is also worth noting that due to the development of birth control methods in the modern era, women have become less likely to have an unwanted pregnancy.

Children are in the same family for relatively few, preferring cesarean delivery over vaginal reproduction.

Reasons for a cesarean delivery:

  • The choice of women for this process, as we mentioned

  • An increase in the number of twins due to IVF operations

  • If the woman had given birth in Caesarea in previous pregnancies

The risk of a cesarean delivery:

As mentioned earlier, cesarean section is now much safer and more common. But it does have some drawbacks

  • The rate of bleeding may be more compared to normal childbirth

  • The pain of the operation is greater

  • The hospital stay is longer

  • The recovery period is longer

  • Increasing the adhesion of the placenta to the bottom of the uterus in a future pregnancy, which in turn can lead to certain problems.

  • The rate of fertility by a second cesarean section becomes higher

  • The possibility is slight that the child will need oxygen therapy for some time

  • Probability of hernia and pain in the fissure for a long time after the operation

Are there benefits to cesarean delivery?

It is difficult to determine the benefits from studies !!

But there are potential benefits from it:

If the operation was planned, then it is definitely safer than if the operation was carried out in an emergency situation, the woman would be aware in advance of the time of the operation in order to be able to facilitate her personal affairs, for example, maternity leave, or coordination with relatives to help the newborn.

Caesarean section may have a protective factor for the pelvic muscle, and a woman may be less prone to irritations or incontinence

Post-Caesarean:

  • The mother begins to move as soon as the effect of the cheek decreases

  • She can eat and drink as desired

  • You stay in the hospital a day or two

  • The mother can breastfeed the child, even if the doctor advises her to take some painkillers and antibiotics -

  • You care for the wound, by keeping it clean

  • You can shower after removing the wound condom, after two days, for example

  • We sew the skin with fleshy thread, which dissolves over time, so there is no need to remove it
